Situation

This first time crowdfunder had a great idea for a cutting-edge smart wallet that digitally consolidates all credit/debit cards securely into one device.  They needed an agency to guide them through all aspects of preparing and executing a campaign.  


Strategy

In order to make this a success, we needed to completely support and align all facets of their crowdfunding campaign – from messaging and campaign creation, to strategy, ad buys, influencer marketing and PR.  More importantly, we made sure our storyline development rang true across all channels to drive home key messages and pain points.


 

Execution and Tactics

We worked closely with the Spendwallet team to create messaging, establish a list of needed assets (i.e.: product and lifestyle images) and create the campaign video for the brand. We created a robust marketing campaign to ensure social capital was ready to be activated once the Indiegogo campaign launched. During the campaign, we focused on driving traffic and sales through media buys on Facebook.

Additionally, we didn’t have samples available for review, so we focused PR efforts on tech and specialist mobile payment outlets who would “get” the technology and react most favorably to the features that Spendwallet was offering. The readers of these outlets were most likely to be early adopters for a product like this.


Results

The Spendwallet campaign was a great success. Spendwallet had a healthy and engaged social capital created for them and we were able to successfully secure great media coverage with key media including Yahoo! Tech, TrendHunter, Mobile Payments Today, Gizmag, The Paypers, NFC World, TechNutty and Contactless Intelligence to name a few.

Funding Goal $30,000  / Amount raised $103,846  / 346% funded!!
